Our Mission & Vision

OUR FOUNDING VERSE is Genesis 24:63: "Behold, the camels are coming." This passage of the Bible inspired the symbolic representation of the camel in our logo and the foundation of our ministry as one that would "prepare the way" for Christ's return.

The Bible tells us that Jesus is coming back and in the days of His first coming, John the Baptist preached, "Prepare the way!" In that same spirit, our purpose is to prepare a generation for Christ's second coming and the establishment of His kingdom as described in the scriptures.

What's With The Camels?

When Prepare was founded, camels quickly became a significant symbol and mascot for the ministry.  Camels were an important part of society in biblical times.  They had very practical use in day-to-day life, and they illustrated key principles relating to Jesus Christ and God's plan for the world.

OUR CALL reflects three undeniable aspects of the mission to which God calls every church and missions organization:

1) The Great Commandment -- “You shall love the Lord your God with all of your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind.”
2) The Great Commission -- “Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.”
3) The Great Communion -- That we might be in perfect union with one another and with the triune God (John 17:20-26).

OUR MISSION is to train a generation of young adults, in the spirit of John the Baptist, to prepare the way for the coming of the Lord. We seek to teach them to love and serve God in the context of Prepare Ministries' "three M's":

Mentoring -- Connecting young adults to mature Christians that will help them grow in devotion to God.
Meetings -- Times of worship, learning, and engaging others in healthy, Christian relationships.
Missions -- Praying for and serving in our communities and nations abroad.

OUR CORE VALUES may be summed up in what we call the "Seven P's" of Prepare, which we feel reflect the biblical calling for all Christians in the body of Christ. As a ministry, we believe God has called us to emphasize these specific topics related to godly living and preparation for Christ's return:

Prayer & Fasting -- Joining with Christians all over the globe in the 24/7 prayer movement
Proclamation of Truth -- Teaching young adults to study and meditate upon the Scriptures, accurately interpret them, and spread the Word of the Gospel.
Persecution -- Identifying with God's persecuted people in Israel and the Church all over the world, realizing that all who desire to live godly in Christ will suffer persecution (2 Timothy 3:12).
Poor -- Understanding and acting on Jesus' admonition to care for the poor in our world. This also involves an understanding of good financial stewardship and joyful giving.
Purity -- Sexual purity in relationships and preparation for wholesome, godly marriage.
Power of the Holy Spirit -- Teaching and demonstrating the gifts and operations of the Holy Spirit, spiritual warfare, and the empowering of every person in Christ to follow God's will.
Political Responsibility -- Addressing social and cultural norms of the day by staying informed and active in prayer and policy for the rights of the unborn, the ending of human trafficking, the sanctity of marriage between one man and one woman, and other issues.

WE ENVISION a generation of young people who devote themselves to knowing God and helping others to know Him.  This generation will have a bold but humble call to holy living, an uncompromising stand for truth, and a passionate devotion to Jesus Christ.  In the spirit of John the Baptist, they will know what it means to be:

Wilderness Walkers (John the Baptist wore camel skins and lived in the wilderness) -- Not living for the comforts of this world. Intent on preparing and presenting the Bride to the Bridegroom. Isaac foreshadows Jesus, and Isaac's bride, Rebekah, foreshadows the Church. Jesus has been manifested in several ways, Son of God, Savior, Eternal Father, Brother, Friend. In addition to these we emphasize His identity yet to be revealed as the coming Judge and Bridegroom King.
Truth Talkers (John the Baptist wore a leather belt, much like the prophet Elijah. We connect this to the belt of truth spoken of as part of the spiritual armor in Ephesians 6:10) -- Intense love and bold presentation of the truth to those lost in sin. Graciously but clearly exposing heresy. Fearlessly confronting social, economic, and political hypocrisy and injustice.
Enemy Eaters (John the Baptist ate locusts in the wilderness) -- Trust in the Son of God in the midst of what others see as misfortune and judgments. Not being offended by the just judgments of God. Believing that all things work together for good for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purposes.
Promise Seekers (John the Baptist also ate honey in the wilderness) -- As Israel hoped for the promsed land "flowing with milk and honey," this means hope, longing for, and living in expectation of  that which is to come rather than being limited by what is here in the temporal realm. Looking for the eternal reward.
